Description:

Balance between tradition and modernity

We designed a Catholic elementary school, which includes 14 classrooms, 6 science classrooms, a large gymnasium, a lobby, a cafeteria and service facilities. The building has a restrained brick façade that harmonises with its surroundings. The existing sports and play yard was retained and a running track was added. In addition, a new paved outdoor community space has been created on the flat roof of the ground floor wing, with a direct view from the teachers' room. Part of the building has been given a green roof, contributing to sustainability and an environmentally friendly design.

The classrooms are variably equipped, with the educational wings forming a compact mass around the sports hall. An underground car park under the gym provides the necessary parking spaces. While the exterior of the building is more conservative, the interiors have a colourful, playful feel, helping to create a child-centred, inspiring learning environment.
